SA-HT80 DVD Spindle Motor Part?

I read elsewhere in this forum that Panasonic DVD players frequently have failed spindle motors. Panasonic sells parts directly from their web site.

Anybody know the exact part to replace a spindle motor on this model? I can hear the motor click and if I open and close the drawer enough it will usually play. This unit is old but otherwise working fine so I was hoping to replace the bad motor and get a few more years out of it....

PS. It costs about £44 with postage.

Hi yesjim, I would sugest that before you buy anything you open it back up and give the lens a good clean with a q-tip and isotonic fluid (what you get with a lens cleaning disk). The problem with cleaning disks is that they have to spin to work and if the laser does not focus the disk wont spin
if you find that this does not help you can get the parts from www.cpc.co.uk
