What is the best method of laying a solid wood floor on a timber base?

I am going to lay a solid wooden floor onto a wooden base (floor boards). Should I lay a floating floor or should I glue it to the floor boards? I would also like to improve the insolation in the room so would a floating floor with a good insulating underlay be the best?

Hi Damien, you should use the floating floor method to allow for natural expansion to avoid lifting and warping also a good quality underlay is advisable
