My Pc keeps restarting!?

It happens every once in a while (at least once or twice a day), but not on a regular basis. The computer just shuts down, a blue screen with some writing on it appears and then it restarts. And the thing is I don't get any notification, so any information i want to save is lost. I've tried system restore, but it dosn't work, and the things is, it's been happening for long time now. Someone please help me. :(

Hi JD,

It sounds like you have some kind of Windows Operating System and to be able to write down some info from the bsod (blue screen of death) you need o remove the restart setting.
Right-click on "My Computer" and chose properties. Go to the "Advanced" tab and chose "settings" on the third alternative - Start and restore. There, un-check the box for Automatic restart.
Next time you get a bsod, write down the error message and google or search Microsoft's web site on the code.
Hopefully you'll end up with a good instruction on how to proceed.

try replacing PSU (power supply unit) as it may be worn and overheating, tripping out and shutting down your PC prematurly without saving your settings (hence blue screen) once your PC has shut down more than three times you will lose your original settings as the boot up trys to find the last good saved setting.

replacing PSU should do it, these units do deteriate over time due to heat.
