why is my roadrunner connection slow. I call Time Warner, and they said it was because of my firewall or adware software, is this true?

yes, it may well be caused by a firewall program. Disable your fireall temporarily and re-try your program to see if it works better. If it does your firewall needs a bit of tweaking
