How can I change the monitor background colour back to white that has accidentally appeared in yellow ?

yellow? ummm when running programs does everything appear yellow or is it just the desktop background?

if everything is yellow - you need to go in to the monitor settings - there will be buttons on the monitor - if desktop is yellow then go into desktop and adjust the colours settings in there.
