everytime i try to change my background the scroll bar has frozen i cant pick a picture and it keeps showing a blank screen so how do i fix the background?

I don't know how you can fix the back ground if your windows is freezing up but if you download iview at http://www.irfanview.net/
when you open a picture it has the option of making it your destop picture...sorry i don't know what is wrong with your XP but sometimes my takes awhile before it will let me access the scroll....
