Valiant Ecomax 828/2 E?

Hi, I have a 6 year old Ecomax 828/2 E boiler and the boiler has stopped operating.

The temperature gauge reads approx 70 degrees. When I try to reset the boiler by pressing the reset button, after several attempts the boiler trys to start. As soon as the boiler is kicking in the temperature shoots up in excess of 100 degrees and the boiler shuts down.

The fault code that appears is F.20.

Anyone got any ideas of whats wrong and is it is DIY fix or boiler engineer (approx cost in UK, Yorkshire?).

Cheers

Gary, thanks for the advice mate.

Tried the above and have got the system working.

Thank again.

the reason for boiler stopping at such high temp is because the pump may have ceased up or stuck.
Just take a large flat screwdriver & remove centre screw from centre of pump. it will let some water out of it ,just put a small bowl or jug underneath it to catch
water,
this is normal, so dont panic.
you should see the impeler rotating in the pump once screw is removed, if not moving then simply place blade of screwdriver inside the hole & gently tap back of screwdriver with palm of hand or hammer just to try & release the impeler,if sucessful just replace centre screw & check to see if boiler runs better.
