computer won't come out of sleep mode?

I have a computer and when you turn it on it shows a box saying that the computer is in sleep mode and the light goes to yellow and then it turns off. how can I get it to stay on long enough to see what is wrong?

You could try booting up in safe mode. Keep pressing F8 when the pc is booting up and this will bring up a boot options menu. Select safe mode and the pc will boot up with basic settings. This should allow you to get into the display settings and disable sleep mode. (for display settings right click on your desktop and select properties). To change sleep/standby settings select the screen saver tab at the top of the display properties box and click on the power button in the monitor power section. Also there may be a setting in your bios if it is doing it as soon as you have booted up. Hope this helps
