AMW monitor, model M199D, been told back light has gone, can it be fixed?

Been told back light has gone on my AMW monitor, model M199D, can it be fixed, if so how. Many Thanks.

If you are confident in taking it apart and can solder.
The usual fault is electrolytic capacitors have failed on the inverter board
I've replaced these many times and repaired the monitor for about 50p
There could be other faults but this is a good starting point

Well I think at a repair cost of £50 and £15 x £15 postage I'd be better off getting a second hand one from e-bay, we already have two other AMW monitors both are 16-9 which do not seem to sell, and these were obtained a quite a low price!!!! So lets fill the land sites and untill this back light problem is fixed and I read I am not alone, its the way to go, anyone agree!

Hi, postage to us (approx £15) secure, repair will cost roughly £50 then postage back to you at £15 (secure post) plus VAT. Don't forget repairing instead of replacing is a huge saving on our environment! Check out our website for more info - www.lumaco.co.uk.

Hello Richard I am not confident in doing this repair myself and begin to wonder if it is financially viable seeing as initially postal costs have to be taken into consideration but yes please send me more information and a rough estimate. Thanks.

It could be either the backlights or the Inverter PCB, both are fixable. If you are not confident in taking a monitor apart (there is 240v mains voltage inside some monitors) then we can have a look at it for you on a no fix no fee basis, email me if you would like more information.
