i have a panasonic kxf-1050 fax will only display 8 blocks on display?

this is a panasonic kxf-1050 fax it was working 6 months ago
when it was unpluged . when it was plugged back up it will only display about 8 blocks across the display which you can't
read . won't do any thing else .
can any one help or has anyone seen this problem .
