I have a pentium 3 computer, When logging on It will not go to my desktop, it goes straight to background,the only way to access the internet is through task manager but that refuses to let me get into most things.Can anyone help with this problem.

thankyou for your reply,my pc is running windows XP professional and it was second hand so unfortunately I do not have the disc for it. Is there any other way than the one you suggested.

You don't say which version of windows you are running, but I guess it's Windows 98/ME. After about a year or so of daily use, I would recommend reformatting your computer...

Back up all your files to a friend's computer (unplug the hard disc and plug it into their computer then copy all your files you want to keep), then format your hard disc and reinstall windows with the disc back in your computer...
