i have deleted system files and do not have a recovery disk how can i find and restore them

Get this program called GETDATABACK and run it .
this will find your hardrive contents.
If you just want to make your computer work,just redo the darn thing by putting in your windows XP professional cd rom.
If you dont have the cd ,get it!COMPUSA,BESTBUY ETC

wow there is not to many ways to do this if the computer still starts great go to the reycle bin and undelite them, if not u can try running the operating system setup most of the time it will offer a repair option to fix the file system, or if u had norton system works on the system and made the rescue disk thay come with the software u need to recover totally deleted files
