C: drive and D: not displayed on My Computer?

I had a pop up called AntiVirus 2008 PRO on my computer and couldnt get rid of it so i trawled the net and found out this was sort of a virus. I managed to get rid of it but now i have found that when i click on My Computer C: drive and backup disc D is missing.
Does anyone know how to get these back on the My Computer list.
I am not very good with computers thats why i'm asking.
I am using Windows XP
thanks

you have to go to windows, to get there you go to the start button and click on it and when the start program comes up scrole up to where it says windows and click on it. that will open the windows folder in windows you will see a list of programs it will show my documents C:/ drive D:/ drive A:/drive ECT: you need to scrole up/down to where it says C:/ drive and 2 click on it and it will say creat short cut click on OK/Yes place a short cut on the desk top. do this for both drives or all three if you want. that should fix your problem. Hope this helps you:

do you have a windows xp disk ? to recover the installation. It sounds like the virus is still in there in the registry. To deal with this effectively if cleaners fail, is a complete wipe out and reinstall.
