Promax HE not heating radiators?

I have had a potterton promax 28 HE installed some months ago. The installer cannot now be contacted :( It worked fine when installed, but recently I have no heating. I have got drawn hot water but when I switch to the central heating, the pump runs, the burner ignites but goes out after a couple of seconds. Pump runs very hot (too hot to touch). No error codes showing.

Checked for current at the valve motor-ok. Stripped down the valve motor, and smeared the grease better on the plastic cogs inside, checked function. Result- a working CH system and a happy bunny (= me :)

Hi, pump working fine, boiler heating water, radiator indicator lighting when thermostat asks for heat. No circulating hot water to radiators still. How do I test the diverter valve motor/ 3-way valve function?
Would Potterton be happy talking to me (the householder) rather than the installer?

the pump could have failed and isnt circulating the heated water around system to the radiators. unscrew the silver button-head screw on the face of the pump when its running with a small bowl beneath it. if you hear air escape, you had an airlocked pump. if a tiny stream of water drips out, theres no air in the pump, so gently push a small screwdriver into the hole and if you hear a fast clicking caused by the pump impeller spinning, the pump is ok. if no sound, pump u/s. There are other causes, such as faulty diverter valves or major airlocks in the pipework, but pumps are usually the main cause. even new ones can fail !
