what should be showing when you open task manager(xp home)?

when i open task manager with nothing running,there are 35 process running.how can i find out which ones should be there,and which ones not.

Really depends on what you have installed. To check if a process is safe, in Google type what is, followed by process name.
(1st answer left out process name for some reason)
