Separating zipper won't work?

I have a leather coat with a separating zipper, but it has another pull tab at the botton which I can't get off. I can't separate the two parts of the zipper because of the pull tab at the bottom. It looks like there are two arms at the bottom that the zipper would slide off. I've never seen one like this before.

Thanks.

You have a two way zipper. What you can do is take a needle nose plyer and remove the stops at the top of the zipper. They are little metal pieces squeezed on the top of the zipper. Take both of the pulls off and gently (really gently) sqeeze the pull that causes the seperation. Do this to make the space the zipper goes thru smaller. Then put the pulls back onto the zipper, this can be a little frustrating but they will go back on. Now try to see if the zipper still seperates. If it still doesn't work you need a new pull. Look for one at a fabric store. Doubles can be hard to locate, good luck and feel free to give us a call if you still have trouble. Heidi midwestleathercleaners.com
