Diplomat dishwasher,

The fault started a hile ago when i could hear the noise of sparks as i shut the door. It got worse and as i was shutting the door the dishwasher lost power. There is now no power at all and i have a feling that a cable that connects the door to the dishwasher has broke. I have turned the power off to it and am reluctant to call out an engineer if this is a simple job. I am a joiner and kitchen fitter so am quite practical and would prefer to do this myself if possible. Any ideas or advice would be gratefully appreciated een if it is just telling me that i need the proffesionals to sort this out.

Hi Scott, I would have suggested bullet connecting the iwres as they do get cut by the door and go open circuit but as you say there was sparks,I would recommend an engineer as the wires may be burnt and a new loom will need to be fitted.All the best.
