How can I fix my Panasonic TX-32PK1 to stay switched on?

My 6 year old Panasonic TV model TX-32PK1 will stay switched on with sound and vision for only about 2 seconds - then switches itself off. The fault is consistent and not interrmittent. (I guess the same fault could easily happen to model TX-28PK1). Any suggestions how to fix it?
