Can I paint plasterboard without plastering?

I have recently put up a Plasterboard stud wall and taped, filled and sanded the joints/screwholes. The finish looks so good I would like to paint it without having to apply a plaster skim? Is this feasible or some time in the future will cracks appear where the plasterboards are joined together?

he said he filled the joints....the tape will not bubble!
seal with watered down white emulsion , let dry and paint two top coats

You can paint straight on it, best to size wall 1st in my opinion, add a unibond coat 1st. If you have taped & skimmed the seams then there is no reason why it should crack.

not a good idea the board will soak the paint up and the tape will bubble either plaster or put lining paper on then paint
