I have read the posts and tried same remedy, but since battery is completely dead, won't let me turn on while unplugged. I have tried 2 different AC adapters. I don't want to buy a battery and find out that is not the problem. On battery info, says battery is operating correctly whatever that means! Tried taking it out, powering down, everything suggested! HELP!! Any ideas would be appreciated. :-)

I did buy a new battery (170.00!) just to find out that is not the problem. My warranty was up the end of February. Dell is more than happy to want to sell me a new computer or to fix it if I send them the laptop and almost 400.00 to repair it! I'm sorry, but you would think that their product would last longer than one year. Is it just this model or are there more?
