I would personally very carefully. get a small screwdriver set and take the case of the camera. once it is of try to remove any chircuit boards from the front of it and clean the shuter and mechanism with a cotton bud and some warm soapy water.
Im not sure what mechanism actually opens the camera, but if its for example springe or tension activated and the coffee has made it sticky it wont work.
Also just out of interest what battery type do you use in your camera?
