How can I fix my whirlpool washing machine, AWO 5763?

THE DOOR LOCK SENSOR IS FLASHING DESPITE THE DOOR BEING LOCKED. THIS MEANS THE CYCLE WONT START AS IT IS REGISTERING THE DOOR UNLOCKED.
