Thomson Freeview Recorder Hard Drive Crash?

Hello,

Ive been told by Thompson that my hard drive has crashed on my freeview recorder. It is out of warentee. Is it possible to fix/replace the HDD?

Yes had all the problems and my friend .Red light stays orange red and nothing happens if you do get a new box it is possible to transfer the drive . would like to know if this is possible to do with the updated machine

Mine crashed at the same time. It was out of warranty but I still took it back to where I bought it. They had 3 others behind the counter - without any hesitation they replaced it for me.

It was a software download from top up tv that was corrupt. They are aware of. Copy and paste the link below for steps to attepmt to reset your software. I tried itand it worked. My box is up and running even though I lost all my saved recordings.

Mine did the same and the red light kept flashing for 3 days, I have since unplugged it and I have also put a complaint to Watchdog needless to say I am speechless

Apparently , if this happened over the weekend, it is likely to be a Thomson update that has crashed machines.

I've written to BBC Watchdog today - as my box did the same thing last night (Sunday 19 April 2009).

Am fuming - for a company to crash its own digi-boxes is totally ridiculous !
