Potterton Suprima 40 - leaking flue?

I thought the boiler was leaking so called an engineer, he checked it and it's working fine. It was strange as the water was on top of the boiler as well as on the floor. It now appears that this happens only when it rains - it appears water is coming in the flue and seeping out where the pipe joins the top of the boiler. Can anyone suggest how I can stop this from happening.

Thanks

If the boiler is non- condensing the the flue must run slightly down hill to the out side to stop this from happening!

I have suprima 40, no hot water or heating.when I reset the boiler it comes on in after 10 minutes goes of then I can not reset it again but also during that 10 minutes radiators gets hot.
what the fault could be?

Thanks, the flue is on at outside wall, rather than roof will this make a difference? Don't suppose you're an engineer near SM2?

Yep, get engineer man to fit you a proper gas cowl - its in the building regs anyway.
