will flash banding stick to wood?

I want to weather proof the joints on my gazebo roof. Lead is an expensive option, will flash banding do the job...will it stick to wood? I guess I can nail the flash banding down as I would with lead, but I'm curious to know if it would stick to rough sawn wood.

Yes you can don't forget the can of primer for flash band and get extra can incase wood sucks in first coat. Use a wall paper seam roller to roll down the flash band especially the edges. Carefull warm the flash band up, I use hair dryer on full heat as hot air decorators gun will burn throught flash band.
Life span ? may be 5.
Of preference I would use lead put it up and for get it for at least 20yrs if done properly. After laying brush on Patination oil to reduce staining and keep its appearance.
