Why won't my Lexus Freeview plus box record?

I bought a Lexus freeview box (From ASDA) about 4 months ago, and it would record to start with and I'd have the box pop up that says add series link, record just the programme, etc... then about a week ago I slowly started to see all my series linked programmes list get smaller untill there was nothing to be recorded on series link, then I had a message saying your box needs updating, put your box on to standby after all your recordings have finished, so I did this and my box was on standy for well over 8hrs, so when I turned it back on I starting choosing series to record again, but when I pressed on the record button the box that asks if you want to record the whole series doesn't pop up anymore, I just thought it might have been one programme, but I've tried a few and it won't let me record a series at all, the box to ask never pops up anymore :/ which is a pain because I never remember when anything is on and rely on the series link to do its job... Anyone got any ideas why its doing this, if it needs putting on stanby for longer than 8hrs (baring in mind the message I recieved didn't say how long to leave it on stanby for) or should I just buy a new'un? :/ which will annoy me!! lol Cheers for any help you guys can give :) x

Hi - I had the same problem with my tu-tv162h - sharp digital recorder. It's basically a problem that occurs after the top tv updates have been downloaded on your machine. For some reason it knocks your original settings out of sync.

I called the Top Up Tv helpline (08444 159 159) and they were really helpful and talked me through what the problem was and how to fix it. Excellent service and fixed the problem. You need to be able to activate you digital recorder when you are on the helpline so make sure it's near by so you can do the fixes whilst on the phone.

Hope that helps and fixes the problem : )

Take it back for a refund. You are still withing the six months allowed by the Sale of Goods Acts that require the retailer to prove that is ISN'T faulty rather than you prove that it IS.
