what is the most cost effective electric heating
michele, July 2009
My 3 bed terraced house is well insulated and is heated by 3 Creda TSR sensor plus storage heaters, 2 X 2.5kw and 1 X 3.4kw heaters. Our electricity bill for last winters heating and hot water was £336. Unlike gas heating, storage heaters need no servicing. I switch mine on in late October and off in March and don't have to touch them from year to year as the latest ones only charge when they need to. Plus you get heat from them 24/7 unlike gas heating. Look on the internet for prices of storage heaters. Hope this is of help to you.

It's a very big question...

Running costs or installation costs or both together and if so over what period of time?

What sort of property - how well insulated and how many rooms and what type of use?

Which country and what electricity supplier - regular metering or reduced off-peak tarriff?

Some information can be found here...

Good luck...
