How do you mend broken plaster from the celling?

i had water leak from the bathroom upstairs and its caused some plaster to break off the celling downstairs

you can buy plaster a small bag or filler depending how much has fallen off ,fill the patch if you do a crap job sand it until smooth if its a big patch get a plasterer to skim it all
