What to do with copper piping?

Two years ago Warmfront installed a new boiler and insisted on replacing the plastic piping to all the radiators (inside the walls) with copper piping running through the ceilings and down the walls. This now runs all around my house and is glaring obvious. It is not practical to enclose it with all its joints and curves but I would like it to appear less unsightly.
( What really bugs me is that last year a neighbor had to have his boiler replaced and the firm happily reused his existing plastic pipes). I was told that they did not meet government specs and not given any choice in the matter as it was a government grant.

Only thing would be to paint it to blend with the existing decor.
