The end of the rope. How to test the motherboard and processor I would start off by once again checking all the connection coming into the motherboard and that the processor is seated correctly. More then once has that gotten the best of me. If that doesn't correct the probem move on to the visual inspection. Remove both from the system and place in a well lit area. then carful look over every inch of the motherboard for signs of burning. You can also you the old noise to smell for the sent of burnt silicon. Trust me if you burned anything there you will smell it. If the motherboard looks (and smells) good then I would move on to the processor. Remove it from the socket and again in a well lit area inspect it looking for burning. If both look good it might be time to head to the repair shop.
