Shower will not work, pull switch seems inoperative?

I have a Mira Sport 7.5 shower (J92A 02/04) installed i think, about 7 years ago. It has stopped working. The fuse in the mainbox is switched on, but the ceiling pull appears not to recognise this. It may need a replacement of the ceiling pull unit?, but can you identify likely cause of the problem, please keep it simple, im not techie!

Many thanks in anticipation.

Many thanks Peccavi, thought as much.

The cord operated switch on the ceiling should have a neon lamp in it to indicate on and off - if the neon lamp does not illuminate when you pull the string *and* the breaker that supplies the shower unit is set to on then you very probably have a broken ceiling switch - it will need to be replaced by somebody with the confidence to do the work.

Yellow pages - electrician might be your best bet.
