how to change a ceiling light?

i'mreplacing a light ceiling future.there are four cables coming out of the ceiling.i want to take the live wire and the neutral wire to connect the new light future.how can ido it?

"Four cables coming out of the ceiling" could mean several things.
What colour is the insulation around the cables, and are they grouped together in a plastic sheath?

You are probably in the US - search the web for wiring diagrams - the new light fixture will need Earth if it has an earth terminal and it will need Neutral - it will NOT need permanent Live - just live that comes via the switch - switched live - to turn the light on and off.

It's safer if you call in an electrician...
