It would help if you give the model name/description.

But usually in a case like this, you need a disk to put on your pc then you formatt it from there. There should be some sort of utility program you can use to do it and that usually comes with the mp3 player.
So install the software/program, hook up your mp3 player and the utility should give an option of re-formatting it.
