if you just take of the covering strips and inject builder foam into the cavity then that should solve the problem however if you wish to remove the frames you can first cut though mastic surround outside with a sharpe knife the windows are attached to the brickwork with frame fixings these can be undone with a power drill and screw attachment to expose all the fixing points it is likely you will have to deglaze some of the units its not a job for the faint hearted but is doable remember that if the window comes out compleatly a fensa registered workman will have to verify your work when you put it back for building regs
