I gave up and chucked it in a cupboard. Now, months later, I tried it again and it worked as good as new. Very strange!

I did the same using cheap batteries . I changed to Duracell and it worked ok again

Hi I have an Hitachi HDC 1086e digital camera. It will turn on and immediately turn straight back off again. It's not the batteries as they are new and also tried another set. Do you have any suggestions to rectify this?
Try refrigerating the memory card or new memory card as there may be a virus.

My HDC-1086E does the same thing. well it turns on but turns itself off immediately. Anyone that knows how to sort it out please can you help!
