My Maytag Neptune Washing Machine does not spin!?

Hi,

My Maytag Neptune (I purchased it in Oct of 1997) washing machine does not spin and clothes don't get squeezed and water does not get extracted. I noticed the following problems and I have to do the following, which does not seem right.

1. When I press the start button, before 'on' indicator light comes on. After few minutes 'door locked' indicator used to light. Now the 'on' indicator is on but 'door locked' indicator does not light.

2. when the cycle reaches to spin, machine makes a wheezing sound but eventually it stops. It used to spin fast, now it doesn't happen.

3. When I try to rotate the knob to spin cycle to spin again, the machine behaves as if the washing machine is still on, even though the entire wahing cycle is completed. So either I have to either open the door of the machine, or remove the plug from the outlet to start the spin cycle. When I press start button same thing happens as in item 1. But what I noticed is that I hear is that some water getting extracted through the pipe. but at the end, I still see clothes are still dripping in water.

Please help with a solution. Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Your main controller and wax motor in your door is bad, what happens is as the wax motor ages it draws more current and burns up key components in the door lock system. No door lock lite no hi speed spin. Parts run for around 180 USA dollars.
