cracks in ceiling?

The ceilings in my house have been artexed., and there are some unsightly cracks running across the ceiling side to side. On further investigation, it appears that the cracks are on top of paper tape that has been used to cover the joints in the plasterboard prior to artexing. It seems that the glue on the back of the tape has dried out, therefore lifting and creting cracks along several ceilings.
What would be the best , easiest and cheapest method to rectify this problem?

Thanks for the reply Trev. Decided to tackle it the long way. Removed artex with wallpaper steamer, used webbed tape over the joints and filled. Ceiling will be papered .
Thanks

Other than stripping the artex and having the tapin g joints re-done which will be costly. A method that can be used is to buy decorators caulk and put this in the cracks and wipe excess offf with a wet clothe.
