How to fix my mp3 player?

My Sansa m230 512MB mp3 player dropped into water. I removed it quickly and it said: battery low, powering down. Since then, it would not turn on. I took it apart to let it "dry, or air, out" but it still wouldn't turn on. Should that work and is there another way that i could repair it?

Actually, sorry about that. I didnt think about the question you asked before i answered. When i took it apart, i removed the battery.

No. I let it sit for a while until my brother came home and suggested taking it apart. Thats when i tried to see if it would work by airing out.

did you unplug the battery when you opened it?
