A key icon has appeared on my Sony SLV-678HF VCR, how do I unlock it?
How do I unlock my VCR? I think it is a tamper proof lock, as there was a tape stuck in the VCR that I was trying to figure out how to get out. Now its locked and nothing works.
Unplug the VCR and plug it back in again. You'll have to reprogram it of course

It could also be a parental-control feature, accessible through the "menu" key on your remote. When pressed, it should be one of the options displayed on your TV.
