how can i fix my xbox 360? it is not reading the game discs

hi above answer is correct except if you dont swap pcb you will not beable to play gamedisc not xbox live .pcb has key on that has to match motherboard.there is another way just change laser in drive about £10 inc postage from console mod shops.(easy open up unclip ribbon cable fit new one clip back done)

Do's it play any other discs? If not its probably your disc drive.
I had the same problem and found out that it was the drive that was at fault, but follow a guide if you plan on repairing it yourself you'll have to take both drive apart to exchange the pcb's inside otherwise you'll loose your xbox live membership!
