i have hot water but the heating will not fire up i have checked the timer for settings any ideas ???

Unusual for a cdi not to fire on heating as it defaults to heating, it then has to act to fire hot water.

Silly things, you mentioned the timer is on, is the room stat up? Is the temperature selector for heating turned up and the control knob not broken behind? Worth checking the simple things first.
