How can i fix shoot bolt mechanism on upvc windows?

The shoot bolt mech is not working correctly.the 2 (mushroombolts?) are not opening and closing together .I do have another mechanism but do not know if the rods can be swopped over as i need to put longer rods on new mech.I also do not know make of bolt as no makers mark showing
