my creative does not charge?

i have a creative but everytime i try to switch it on it switches on for a few seconds then it freezes the other thing is that if i want to charge it it does not show any charging icon whats up with that

My creative does not fully charge any more. The charge only last about half an hour where as it used to last a lot longer when charged for 4 hours. What is wrong with it!
