Slow Start Up in XP Home?

My computer boots up until it is installing my settings. It then takes up to 15 minutes to completely start up. Once it has completed the start up it runs well. Can this start up be speeded up. It used to take 1 minute at the most.

You probably do not have enough memory to run XP. XP needs AT LEAST 512mB but will be better with 1 gB.

Next defrag you hard driver and finally get rid of any programs that you do not use. (Theyare probably loading 'stub's at boot time which is helping to slow everything down.)

Skilled PC people can do even more. However amateurs using the techniques cause damage to the PC.
