Dell Dimension 8400 update to sp2?

I've gone to the update site and it tells me to make a back-up. What kind of back-up do I need. My Dell does not offer a CD option. Just floppy. Wouldn't that take a lot of floppy's? Also, do I need to make a restore disk? I get a pop-up daily saying support for sp1 ends Oct. 10

Yes make a restore diskette.

They always tell you to backup in case things go wrong but the SP2 upgrade is usually OK. If you are nervous, you can: buy a backup device, or back up your vital files to diskette, or not bother.

If this is not clear try another post.

Only you can decide how important your data is.
