How do i fix my Bush A642f tv from flickering the menu function on screen?

bush A642f lcd keeps flashing up the menu screen?
Hi, my Bush A642f 42" lcd keeps flashing up the menu screen and source then going off only to reappear later on and keep doing this , all the buttons on the side do not work and if you press them or the remote controller the menu and source are the only thing that flicker on the screen.

many thanks

Had a simliar prob with this set where set came on on BBC2 perfect pic and sound. Neither Remote nor set buttons would alter anything although front blue led flashed.
Scart input switched set to Scart where it remained. Pulled out set button control plug to check for shorting tact switches - same.
Found a main board on Ebay - set now OK but remote still doesn't function though set led flashes.
Ongoing problem

A few random thoughts, in no particular order.

Check the menu button on the remote and on the TV's own control panel aren't stuck down

Try to see if the set is responding to command from the remote or from the TV's panel: If you have a digital camera, use this to look at the 'business end' of the remote (Digital cameras are sensitive to show Infra Red light).

The IR LED in the remote will show up on the camera viewer. You should only see a light when a remote button is pressed. If there's a light showing without any button being pressed, the remote is trying to send continuously.

There's not another remote i nth eroom (Sky, All-In-One, etc) capable of controlling the TV and, maybe, the cat is sat on it?
