Does it do anything at all? Do you get a display?
Videos are susceptable to damp. If its been in a cold place you may have condensation inside. Try putting it somewhere warm for a few hours and try again.
If the display comes on but you cant load a tape then you may be able to change a drive belt. If you have nothing to loose, then UNPLUG it, remove the case and check its not full of dust.
Mine has failed due to the chip that drives the take up motor failing. Its probably not worth fixing and will be scrap.
