i have a goodmans dvd 3600pkt.i can not get it to play any dvds, keeps saying no disc

I have a Tevion flat screen TV & DVD player. I played the 1st DVD OK, the 2nd one stopped 1/4 way through film, then the rest of the DVD's caused a message to come up on the screen "error disk". Tried assortment of CD's but all display same message.
