I had another batrey on me so i put that in but it still wont work.

My niece has the same MP3 player which I bought her for Xmas. The only way i could get it going again was to either format it then reload the music back or take one music file off then reload. Do both of these using a computer, however, this does not solve the problem as it keeps reaccuring. The only other way would be to get a firmware update, but I have yet to find the Mikomi website to download it. Nor can I find the firmware anywhere on the net.

Try formating the usb drive. Open up control panel go to Audio Devices click on Portable Media Devices once it finds the USB drive right click to get the options to OPEN COMMAND PROMPT. Once it opens the dos screen type format E: or what ever dirve the usb is on ex. F: G: H: etc...... give it a minute and it will format the usb and you will be good to go afterwards. I just fixed a coworkers Mikomi and it works fine now.

Good news!
I just plugged mine into the computer THEN booted up the computer.
I have windows xp and it stalled a bit then, recognised there was a usb drive connected but it had a problem..
it went thru a sequence of correcting the errors then the computer started ok.
now the mp3 player works fine.
I think the trick is to connect it to the computer before you start the computer. if you dont have windows xp try it on a friends computer good luck
i thought i was going to have to dump this mp3 player
now i'll see how long more it lasts...

Also had the same problem Caroline, just the blue light
no other buttons work. Computer cannot open the device when its plugged into the usb port so I cant see the files or format it.

Also bought from Argos, they said it was excluded from returns policy unless its broke.
I havn't gone back with it yet, this only hapened yesterday, it turned itself off. I thought it was the battery and replaced it but ever since it hasn't worked.
Maybe it shorted out. As you can't access the mp3 hard drive on a PC, you can't do anything. If I can't find away I'll bring it back but I wont get another Mikomi!

If you bought yours from Argos, as i have then you and me have the same problem. They suggest that you should format it and then try to re install your music onto it again.

If all else fails then you should be able to claim back on the warranty. (I bought the three year coverage for just an extra fiver).

Its rubbish as far as players go. But what more were you expecting for your twenty five squid? a rival to an IPOD?!!
