won't start unless I bucket water in then turn to rinse, wait til the machine starts then turn it around quickly to a lesser dial such as cold wash

if water does not fill with taps turned on the most likely part at fault is the solenoid valve, ideally you need a meter to check continuity in the valve coil, check the filters also
